Scams have been around since greed and robbery were invented – that is, forever! But the difference today is that scams, thanks to the internet, can reach millions more people. Nine out of Kiwis think they can spot a scam, but as they become increasingly sophisticated, the number of people getting scammed is growing exponentially. Phishing, sextortion, and remote access scams are just some of the ways scammers are getting us to part with our hard-earned money in 2023.
